What does the AO3 status report cover?
This page uses the Archive of Our Own component on the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW) status page. Fanlore, Transformative Works and Cultures, and the OTW website have separate components; their incidents do not automatically apply to AO3.
Why is AO3 down?
In its October 30, 2026 announcement, OTW said AO3 would remain offline while it investigated and addressed a security incident. That announcement does not establish AO3's current availability. Check the saved official report and the official status page for subsequent updates.
When will AO3 be back up?
OTW's October 30, 2026 announcement estimated at least two weeks of downtime, possibly up to four weeks. Limited or read-only access might return sooner and could be interrupted during recovery. This was an estimate, not a guaranteed recovery date. Check the official updates for changes.
Is AO3 still down?
